GATHERING ON ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE-SPECIFIC PRACTICES IN PHOTOGRAPHIC ART

8.5.

During the opening week of the Utopias Lahti 2026 festival, Utopias Lahti, NŌUA, and ISSP will host a series of discussions on architectural and site-specific practices in photographic art. How do artists engage with the urban spaces and architecture in their work? In what ways does photographic art operate within public space? And what does socially and environmentally sustainable exhibition-making look like today, in both urban and rural contexts? The gathering will explore these questions from the perspectives of artists and artist-run organisations.

The event is free of charge and open to all. A light vegetarian and vegan snack will also be served in between the presentations. The language of the event is English.
